You Only Live Twice

One of my favourite Ian Fleming novels, and one of my least favourite 007 movies, even with Sean Connery in the lead. The book and film are poles apart and share relatively little in common, apart from the setting in Japan, and some very basic elements. The movie script was written by Roald Dahl, who adapted another Ian Fleming work to screen, ‘Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang’. I discussed the book on The Bond Experience Youtube channel, above. I haven’t covered the film in my podcast, yet, and quite honestly expect it to be one of the last James Bond films I get to. Connery gave us some of the best 007 movies, and movies generally, but I find his last few outings the least watchable. Each to their own. Again, love the book, for reasons I set out in the video above!

I talk about one of the London locations from the novel, below.
