James Bond: On *His* Majesty’s Secret Service
One video and two podcasts: safe to say, I strongly recommend this novel!
The 007 continuation novel set in the days approaching King Charles III’s coronation - only James Bond can save the day (as always). This short novel is by Charlie Higson, who previously wrote the ‘Young Bond’ book series, which are a prequel to the original Ian Fleming series. The below video is my quick take on the book after I read it for the first time, and includes footage from the KCIII coronation celebrations in London.
British author Roland Hulme and I have both released Youtube reviews of this latest 007 adventure. Mine is very brief with some footage of the coronation celebrations in Hyde Park. Roland’s is a much deeper dive, where he shares his unique insights as a professional novelist. I ask him to further explain some of his points in the podcast below, and I have also linked two of his videos (even further) below, as well.
Much later, I talked to Chris Morales, @thatonebondguy on Instagram and Youtube who gave me his unique take on this book. We also talk about Chris’ Anglophilia, The Stormbreaker Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz, the Kingsman series, coming to James Bond, the books, films, biographies of Ian Fleming, and now the continuation 007 novels. There are some spoilers for the book ahead, natural for a review.
Below, as promised, the two videos by Roland Hulme, outlining his views as a professional novelist on this work.
